The Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (IAS) invites applications for Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will assist the IAS Fellows in research and projects in collecting and analyzing research data, supporting research activities and IAS projects in the disciplines of linguistics, history, literature, philosophy and religious studies, law, economics, management, business, education, communications, sociology, psychology, and politics. Initial appointment is up to 12 months with a possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and mutual agreement.

Qualifications
Applicant with BA or MA degree in Social Sciences and Humanities who demonstrated relevant experiences and excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin is desirable. Possession of skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and possibly other computer programmes is considered an asset.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty ASAP.

Remuneration
Remuneration offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
