The Faculty of Law (FLL) invites applications for the position of a Full Professor in the area of Financial Law and Securities Law, including but not limited to issues pertaining to public and private law aspects of the regulation of the financial sector and its principal actors, financial services, the development of the bond market, private equities and green finance, as well as notably technological developments related to the financial sector regulation (FinTech). Special knowledge about the laws of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Greater Bay Area (GBA) combined with a comparative or global understanding will be considered an advantage.

The Faculty of Law of University of Macau is the oldest law school in Macao and plays a very important role in preparing jurists who are familiar with Macao S.A.R. legal system, as well as, educating jurists who are competent in legal research and practices in Macau law, international law and comparative law. The Faculty of Law presently offers undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees to both local and international students. More details about the Faculty are available at https://fll.um.edu.mo/.

Qualifications
Applications for the post of Professor must hold a PhD degree in Law. Applicants must have an excellent record of experience in teaching and supervising master and doctoral students as well as of theoretical, practical and interdisciplinary research conducted at reputed academic institutions, which shall be substantiated by publications in refereed journals of national and international standing. Applicants must be proficient in English.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2024.

Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approx. USD154,350) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
