The Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in School Counseling.

The Faculty of Education offers Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. programmes in various areas of education. Details about the Faculty of Education are available at https://www.um.edu.mo/fed/. The Faculty of Education strives to become a leading institution for teacher education and educational research in Macao, the Greater China Region, and beyond.

Qualifications

Applicants should have (a) a doctoral degree in School Counseling or Counselor Education, or related areas; (b) a clearly defined research agenda as shown by publication records and research activities; (c) The appointment at the rank of Full Professor or Associate Professor depends on qualification and achievements of the applicant, such as established international excellence in research and scholarship with a proven record of publications in high caliber international journals (e.g., SSCI or SCI indexed journals), national or international collaborative research profiles in School Counseling or Counselor Education, and strong connections with scholars and practitioners in the field. Priority consideration will be given to those with competence in publishing top journal articles in this area.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2024.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
