The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Institute of Collaborative Innovation (ICI-CIE) at the University of Macau (UM) has been committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship since its establishment in 2017. It supports UM’s students, staff, and alumni in transforming ideas into start-ups and promotes collaboration between talent, technology, and industry. In addition, ICI-CIE is actively promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in big health sector, driving the incubation and commercialization of related innovations.

To cope with the development of ICI-CIE, ICI-CIE invites applications for the position of Research Assistant to assist the technology transfer and incubation team by conducting research on the commercialization potential of technologies, analyzing market needs, and contributing to the incubation of start-up companies.

Initial appointment is up to 12 months with a possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in biomedical sciences, medical engineering, pharmaceutical management, health technology or related fields;
  2. Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience would be an advantage;
  3. Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  4. Strong communication and teamwork skills;
  5. Strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal skills, proactive, and detail-oriented;
  6. Adaptable and productive in dynamic work environments.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as soon as possible.

Remuneration

Remuneration offered will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
