Research Positions for the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences/State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine

Research Staff

Established in 2002, the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) is an academic centre of excellence in Chinese medicine as well as biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in the region. It hosts the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (QRCM), as well as Macao Centre for R&D in Chinese Medicine, UM Centre for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, UM Macao Centre for Testing of Chinese Medicine and Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Over the past decade, the Institute has established an international reputation in conducting high-quality research with special emphasis on Chinese medicine quality research, drug discovery and development, immunopharmacology, systems pharmacology, molecular pharmaceutics and regulatory sciences. It has secured outstanding funding support from both national and regional governments and built long-term strategic collaborations with top academic organizations around the world. ICMS/QRCM is now recruiting research personnel with extensive research experience in at least one of the following strategic research directions: (1) Biomedical Sciences (2) Traditional Chinese Medicine (3) Pharmaceutical (4) Chemistry (5) Biochemical/Pharmaceutical/Chemical/Food Engineering (6) Data Science, and related disciplines.

Initial appointment is up to 12 months with a possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.

Qualifications
1. Postdoctoral Fellows:
A doctoral degree in abovementioned fields; a solid record of publication and scientific training.
2. Research Assistants:
A bachelor’s degree or above in abovementioned fields; with research and laboratory working experiences will be an advantage.

Remuneration
Remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
