The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) invites applications for the position of UM Macao Fellow equivalent to Lecturer in the academic staff system on a 3-year contract basis in Chinese Medicinal Science, Healthcare Product Development, Pharmaceutical Science, Quality Analysis, Big Data Analytics, Medicinal Administration, Chemistry, Pharmacology and Biotechnology.
Established in 2002, ICMS is an academic centre of excellence in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in the region. It hosts the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, which is China’s first and only state key Laboratory in the field of Chinese medical sciences. Over the past decade, the Institute has established an international reputation in conducting high-quality research with special emphasis on quality control of Chinese medicine, drug discovery & development, systems pharmacology and molecular pharmaceutics. It has secured outstanding funding support from both national and regional governments and built long-term strategic collaborations with top academic organizations around the world. - Macao permanent resident;
- Master’s degree holder or above, doctoral degree holder from a reputable university is strongly preferable.
Successful recruits may be requested to seek visiting appointments at a reputable research or academic institution outside Macao for enhancement on their qualifications and professional experience, as well as their opportunities for research and publications. Upon meeting a satisfactory level of performance assessment and having suitable qualification at the end of the initial 3-year contract, the appointees will be expected to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of UM via open recruitment.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2020.
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP592,410 (approximately USD73,140) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
