The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS)/State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (QRCM) invites applications for academic positions at the rank of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor.
ICMS/QRCM is a prominent academic center for research and education in Chinese medicine, natural products, and biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences. Our institute has garnered significant funding from both national and regional bodies, fostering strategic partnerships with leading academic institutions globally. In line with our commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, we have recently launched the UM Centre for Immune Regulation within ICMS. This center aims to be a world-renowned hub for groundbreaking research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the immune-regulatory effects of traditional Chinese medicine, natural products, diet, and nutrients. We seek candidates who demonstrate excellence in research and teaching, with a strong background in immunology. The successful applicant will contribute to our mission of pioneering research and will engage in collaborative projects that align with our strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- A PhD degree in immunology or a related field such as microbiology, infectious diseases, allergy/asthma, oncology and rheumatology;
- Study or research experiences at globally renowned institutions;
- A proven track record of exceptional accomplishments in scientific research;
- Expertise in the study of immune regulation mechanisms related to Traditional Chinese Medicine, natural products, diet and nutrition is highly desirable.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2025/2026.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
