Administrative Staff

The Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (IAS) of the University of Macau invites applications for the position of Senior Administrative Assistant/Administrative Assistant at a taxable monthly salary ranging from MOP25,380 to MOP43,240 (index 270 – 460).

Responsibilities

  1. Plan, organize, and execute academic events and projects, such as conferences, symposiums, and lectures, in collaboration with international academic institutions and within the university;
  2. Manage promotion, public relations, and communication efforts related to academic exchange and collaboration initiatives, including social media promotion;
  3. Prepare correspondence, speeches, and reports to support academic projects and collaborations;
  4. Coordinate and support inbound and outbound visits, meetings, events, talks, and other ad-hoc projects;
  5. Undertake office administration tasks, including proposal writing, facilities reservation, procurement, and logistical arrangements;
  6. Perform additional duties as required to support the overall office operation.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in International Relations / Event Management / Communication / Translation & Interpretation of Chinese & English;
  2. Minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience in organizing and managing academic events, activities, and related logistical arrangements, preferably with extensive experience working in overseas academic institutions;
  3. Rich experience in organizing inbound and outbound visits is an advantage;
  4. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (both Traditional and Simplified Chinese) is required. Fluency in Portuguese is an added advantage;
  5. Experience in managing promotion through social media platforms or applications; Proficiency in using tools like WordPress, Xiaohongshu, Facebook, and Instagram is preferred;
  6. Excellent business writing abilities, and good interpersonal skills.
