The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for multiple positions (Full/Associate/Assistant Professor), preferably with a specialty in Biomedical Engineering.
Electrical and Computer Engineering has evolved into a high-impact discipline that is reshaping numerous aspects of daily life. Our undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum emphasizes key areas including Microelectronics Circuits, Internet of Things, Energy Internet, Renewable Energy, Telecommunication Infrastructure, and Biomedical Engineering. With a team of 46 full-time academic staff of diverse research backgrounds, the department is now launching a new Intelligent Medical Engineering programme, to support healthcare development in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, particularly in advancing “BIG Health” and Translational Precision Medicine. We seek exceptional candidates for the program with expertise in (but not limited to) AI in medicine, biomedical electronics, medical robotics, sensors, instrumentation, brain-computer interface, intra-body communications, and medical imaging. In the THE World University Ranks, the Engineering and Technology programme is ranked among the 126th – 150th.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering, or related areas. Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching experience at the tertiary education level.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in January 2026 and the positions will be open until filled.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
