The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor. This position is intended to complement and strengthen existing departmental staff expertise: we are seeking candidate from the fields of Power Electronics, across areas such as Power Quality, Power System Analysis and Smart Grid, who can contribute to departmental teaching and research needs. Also, we are seeking candidate who can assist in providing service for the Electrical and Computer Engineering programme development, especially in Internet of Things for Smart Energy area.
Electrical and Computer Engineering has transformed to many aspects in our daily life, such as power systems, telecommunication, biomedical, robotics and control systems, etc. Currently, about 34 faculty members from diverse research backgrounds serve in this department, including Internet of Things for Smart Energy, Biomedical Electronics and Imaging, Microelectronics and Wireless Communications. The Department offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degree programmes. The BSc degree programme includes four existing disciplines such as Biomedical Engineering, Electric Power Engineering and its Automation, Microelectronics and Wireless Technology. The candidates must have an earned PhD degree in related areas. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive research and teaching experience at the tertiary education level.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2019.
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP800,800 (approximately USD98,860) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
