In 2013, UM launched the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) ( to provide excellent education programmes, perform outstanding research and deliver dedicated services to the community. FHS emphasizes on the research in the areas of aging, animal behaviours, bioinformatics, cancer, cell cycle, development, epigenetics, genomics, metabolic diseases, pharmacology, proteomics, stem cell, systems biology, transgenics, translational research and/or neuropsychiatry. Recently, FHS established the Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration that aims at fortifying the teaching and research in the area of public health and risk management, with a particular emphasis on epidemiology and pandemic control.

Now, the Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration of FHS invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Public Health. The candidate is expected to have:

  • strong exposures in research of public health, particularly epidemiology and/or communicable diseases and risk management in human populations (non-laboratory research) such as control of pandemics.

A doctoral degree in related public health and/or related medical studies; minimum three years of postdoctoral training and/or working experience as faculty members in universities that demonstrates high potential of excellence in research and teaching.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2021.

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Apart from competitive remuneration, UM offers a wide range of benefits, such as medical insurance, provident fund, on campus accommodation/housing allowance and other subsidies.
