The Department of Arts and Design (DAD), housed in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, collaborates with the Department of Communication to offer an interdisciplinary specialization in art, design, and creative media in visual communication leading to Master’s and PhD degrees. Applications are invited for the position of Full/Associate Professor specializing in Fine Art or Digital Art. Qualifications
Candidates should be an active contemporary artist in Fine Art or Digital Art with a substantial national/international exhibition or design record. Applicant with a PhD or DFA in Fine Art or Digital Art or closely related fields with successful teaching experience at the university level can apply for the position. Besides the technical skills required for the specific field, the successful candidate should also be a well-rounded artist and educator demonstrating in-depth knowledge in contemporary art, criticism and theory, and has the ability to supervise MFA and DFA students for their theses and dissertations. Successful candidate should also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. While applicants must be excellent in Chinese (speaking and academic writing), excellent in English is considered an asset for the appointment.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty by 2023.

Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approx. USD149,420) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,019,200 (approx. USD125,830) for the position of Associate Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
