The Department of Art and Design in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Art Exhibition and Cultural Management. In line with Macao’s special position in the world, the Department of Arts and Design of UM, which is under construction will be composed of a team of superb art historians, creative artists, as well as experienced art curators with both artistic theoretical knowledge and cultural management experience.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Doctoral degree in Art History, Art Theory, Cultural Management, or related areas. Candidates who have both art historical research capabilities and rich curatorial practical experience, as well as work experience in art museums or cultural management institutions are prioritized. Candidates with experience in supervising MA and PhD students for their theses and dissertations are desirable. While applicants must be excellent in Chinese (speaking and academic writing), excellent in English is considered an asset for the appointment.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as early as June 2024.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approx. USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approx. USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
