The University of Macau sincerely invites applications for the position of Director of Ministry of Education Frontiers Science Center for Precision Oncology, Faculty of Health Sciences.

Ministry of Education Frontiers Science Center for Precision Oncology, Faculty of Health Sciences (currently affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences; both the Center and the Faculty will be integrated into the newly established Faculty of Medicine in August 2026)
The Frontiers Science Center for Precision Oncology (FSCPO) is a cutting-edge research institute dedicated to advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer through precision medicine. Established under the Ministry of Education, FSCPO leverages Macao’s unique population structure—characterized by a predominantly Han ethnicity and a high life expectancy—to conduct large-scale genetic and clinical studies, particularly relevant as cancer accounts for 36% of local mortality. Building on a strong foundation in breast cancer research, FSCPO now also addresses other major types of cancers prevalent in Macao, including colon, lung, and liver cancers. Director of Ministry of Education Frontiers Science Center for Precision Oncology
The successful candidate should have well-recognized international reputation in the field of oncology with considerable experience in administration, academic strategic planning, laboratory setup and management, and must be highly committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and service.

In particular, the candidates should have the following credentials:
1. An earned PhD degree in discipline related to the research areas of the Center;
2. Full Professor or above with a distinguished record of internationally-recognized research and scholarship;
3. Evidence of outstanding academic leadership, demonstrated commitment to leading research and a record of effective teaching in the higher education sector;
4. Ability in fostering productive interdisciplinary relations within and beyond the University;
5. Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills;
6. Proficiency in English is required as it is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.

Remuneration
Remuneration will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
