The Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering (IAPME) is committed to the balanced integration of fundamental and technology application research, which serves as an innovative bridge between pure science and engineering. The interdisciplinary nature of IAPME enables realization of the different research strengths of the university in the scientific engineering solutions as well as in the coping of future technological challenges. At the current stage, the key research areas include green energy technology and environmental materials, photo-electric and electro-optic conversion materials, materials design and simulation, layered materials and their applications, quantum biomaterials for tumor immunotherapy, quantum computational science, AI+ science, etc., in order to develop cutting-edge and innovative disciplines with excellence.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with postdoctoral experience. Candidates should demonstrate strong potential or established excellence in research and teaching, with a proven record of high-quality publications in reputable international journals and relevant academic experience. The rank of appointment will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, achievements, and demonstrated impact in their field.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in Fall 2025.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
