Laboratory Technician for the Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences

The Institute of Collaborative Innovation (ICI) of the University of Macau invites applications for the position of Laboratory Technician (equivalent to Senior Administrative Assistant/ Administrative Assistant) for the laboratories under the Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences (CCBS) at a taxable monthly salary ranging from MOP25,380 to MOP43,240 (index 270 – 460).

 

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and manage laboratory equipment including fMRI, fNIRS, EEG, TMS, eye tracker, etc.
  2. Carry out daily operation of the laboratories and coordination of personnel using the laboratory equipment in compliance with the University’s safety standard (QEMS project);
  3. Undertake training and demonstration sessions on laboratory equipment;
  4. Monitor the usage of resources in laboratories and purchase laboratory equipment;
  5. Coordinate QEMS project and laboratory safety affairs;
  6. Assist in the IT-related issues such as webpage and hardware management;
  7. Assist in academic activities for the Institute.

 

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in radiography, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or related fields. Master’s degree or above is preferred;
  2. Minimum 1 year of working experience for Laboratory Technician (Administrative Assistant); or 4 years of comprehensive experience in managing laboratories and/or operating academic programmes in tertiary institutes for Laboratory Technician (Senior Administrative Assistant);
  3. Laboratory experience and recognized training certificates on fMRI/MRI is a plus, and those related to other instruments and apparatus of CCBS such as EEG, fNIRS, eye tracker, E-prime, physiology recording are also preferable;
  4. Recognized laboratory safety related certifications or professional qualification is preferable;
  5. Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese);
  6. Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
